Wikipedia Definition:

"A challenge coin is a small coin or medallion, bearing an organization's insignia or emblem and carried by the organization's members. Traditionally, they might be given to prove membership when asked and to enhance morale. They are also collected by service members and law enforcement personnel. Historically, challenge coins were presented by unit commanders in recognition of special achievement by a member of the unit. They could also be exchanged in recognition of visits to an organization."

Our distinctive coin is an exclusive treasure, unavailable in stores and coveted by only a select few. This minted coin represents the unity, spirit, and brotherhood of our unit. You can proudly showcase it in your challenge coin tray or carry it with you, just as I do. It's the perfect heirloom to gift to your children and grandchildren, symbolizing a lasting legacy. Our Challenge Coin is an everlasting custom made collectable and will be the subject of great conversations. Looking at the coin you'll find our unit patch at its center. Our unit patch was designed by Ted Motsinger and was proudly worn by the men of the 134th Assault Helicopter Company lasting these decades. The coin was designed by Hans J. Underwood in 2012 and minted in 2013 as indicated on the back of the coin. The coin has always been far more than a keepsake. It carries our honor, our respect for one another, and the legacy we've worked so hard to preserve. For 13 years it has connected us to our history and to the brothers who shaped it. Now, the final chapter of that journey has come to a close. Every remaining coin has been sent out, and none are left for purchase. The last coins were mailed on January 5th, 2026, a quiet milestone marking the end of an era.
